The ghost in my family tree - Sad Poems

Italy the year 2078...

a young woman sits and then waits...near a giant tree, and her favorite listening place
today she would meet with this friend... 95 old with secrets hidden within a grimacing face
as if she had the key to the place this prison encased... and once the lock was unlatched
they would walk on a path old and worn with cobble that's cracked... talk of the past

it starts with a cough and a gasp....

lets see he says seven/three/eight three my birthday, the reason why Gretchen Leeds hates me
she wanted a daughter we were twins she lost her... I was fostered... Gretchen weeped daily
destiny? maybe, but she walked into the Ionian Sea hands up she was clutching rosary beads
she stood under the water frozen it seemed ready to die alone with only the ocean to breath
can you picture a worse scene? I was 13, seen it all... I yelled out why me a curse undeemed
in sleep the day would replay .. I would burst in screams while I was still immersed in dreams
survived unloved disdained... then rise above again... to thrive in love... and gain...
meaning... despite the bull@#$%! live life to the fullest... it derived from mothers sick pain
then she speaks to him "your walk it has come to end.. OUR mother her life it has begun again
this path is only taken when your ready not to run and then... you rest amongst loved ones and friends
through tears and grief he managed to speak "are u my sister".. she hands him her damaged leaf
now he can barely breath... she says to him "now its time to take your place upon the family tree"

Some choose to gamble by purchasing lottery tickets when they should be putting that money toward savings. This is a guaranteed way to ensure you have money.

TIP! Putting money aside in a savings account is an important part of a healthy personal finance plan. These accounts can help finance your major purchases such as a new TV or a vehicle.

Depositing money into a savings account on a regular basis is one step toward financial stability. This could mean that you may not need a loan, and that you can handle unknown circumstances if need be. Even small deposits on a monthly basis will help your savings grow, and your nest egg increase.

TIP! Everyone makes mistakes now and then, especially with their personal finances. You might be able to get the fee for bouncing a check waived.

If you have a job, but you don?t bring in enough money, get a part-time job. Look for something that will keep you interested and open up new opportunities for you, for instance by working withing your community. Adding extra income during the week can make a difference in the long run.

TIP! You will need to pay off your debits before you can repair your credit. Do this by paying off your loan and credit card debts by making some cutbacks.

Eliminate credit card debt as soon as possible. Even a little debt can cause you to pay extra for the fact that it can roll over to the next month. You do not need to be wasting this money. Do everything you can to pay off your full balance each month.

TIP! If you can, set up an automated payment for your credit card. This setup will stop you from forgetting about the necessary payments.

Youngsters these days look to find ways to manage their finances in ways their peers wouldn?t, they look to the future and become better at it when they do it at a young age. Look for a savings account you can use and see to it that you save some of the money that you earn.

TIP! Be certain to pay utility charges in a timely fashion each month. If you don?t make timely payments, it can have a detrimental effect on your credit.

In order to become a mature, responsible individual, you need to be good at managing money. You can cultivate this trait yourself quite easily. With a little time and studying, anyone can become better at managing their money. Following these tips can improve your finances, no matter what your current situation

Regent Law Symposium Recap | socentlaw

The Regent University Law Review?s symposium entitled ?Emerging Issues in Social Enterprise? was a great success this past weekend.? The symposium consisted of a reception Friday night, two academic panels on Saturday morning, a primarily practitioner panel on Saturday afternoon, a CLE led by SocEntLaw?s own Kyle Westaway, and a gourmet three-course meal with Michael Pirron (CEO of Impact Makers, a founding Certified B Corporation) as the keynote speaker.

On the first academic panel, Professor Joan Heminway discussed securities law issues surrounding social enterprises, and briefly mentioned some of her research on crowdfunding (See, e.g., here).? Professor Cass Brewer followed with a presentation that suggested eight ways the L3C statutes might be reformed, including statutory language making explicit that investments other than program related investments (?PRIs?) would be freed from the requirement that ?no significant purpose? [be] the production of income or the appreciation of property.?? On the second academic panel, Professor Lyman Johnson discussed the history of the traditional corporations, the longstanding debate over the shareholder wealth maximization norm, and corporate governance opportunities and issues presented by the benefit corporation form.? Professor Dana Brakman Reiser then discussed the Stag Hunt Game that social entrepreneurs and investors engage in when pursuing the goals of social enterprise.? She discussed the need of assurances from each group that they would pursue a blend of social purpose and private profit.? As a solution, she suggested financing social enterprises through ?flypaper? ? long-term (10-15 years), low-yield (below-market), convertible (upon sale of the company) debt.

The afternoon panel included Greg Bergethon (corporate attorney and CPA),?Professor Marcia Narine (a Visiting Assistant Professor, with significant legal and corporate experience, at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law), Michael Pirron, and Kyle Westaway.? They each described their experiences with social enterprise and ways to address the practical issues facing those in this space.? In the CLE, Kyle Westaway led the audience through the entity choice process for social entrepreneurs.? He also addressed management, tax, financing, and liability issues.? Michael Pirron concluded the symposium with a discussion of Impact Makers, and information regarding the Certified B Corporation and Benefit Corporation movements.

Professors Brewer, Heminway, Johnson, and Narine will all publish original papers with ?the Regent University Law Review, and during the spring semester we will likely link to and discuss their articles.

Whatever we may do in life, we have always been taught to proceed with caution; to take care in our decisions and step lightly to avoid any nasty surprises or hiccups and believe it or not, the same theory applies with online marketing. As a business, as in fact any business; success is the natural aim and securing the longevity of our company for ourselves and employees is a given; after all why would we go into business if we did not wish for it to succeed? in today's advanced, internet obsessed world everyone, everywhere is now arguing that the only route to such desired success is via online marketing but is that true? Well, to put it bluntly, yes.

In a world where those without social media profiles are seen as 'weird' and children as young as the age of nine are glued to the latest smartphone; technology now dictates our every move and Google is now the ultimate power that provides the answers to everything. In the UK alone, over 80 per cent of households now have access to the internet which means that for any need, desire or urgent want; we now log onto Google and inadvertently ask for help with those all-important keywords. If we want a 'red dress', a 'chocolate fountain for hire' or even a 'cheap divorce lawyer' we now go directly into Google and put 100 per cent trust in the first two pages of results; if Google deems them to be good enough for page one and two then they must surely have the answers we seek.

As a result of the rising trust we, as users, have placed into Google's search results; SEO, otherwise referred to as search engine optimisation, is now one of the must haves for a business. In today's internet savvy society a search engine optimised website can now be the difference between success and failure but how, as a business do we deem the right path to take? With online marketing rapidly growing in popularity; SEO consultants, PPC specialists and anyone else in between is now trying to grab your attention and promise your business ultimate results but there are a few things you will need to be wary off before you jump into bed with an SEO agency. First of all, SEO is no magic fix and anyone worth their salt will know that the optimisation of a website and an overall online presence will take time, effort and a lot of patience; with the first glimmer of results sometimes taking months to appear on Google; thus for any agency to offer you ultimate success and that number one top spot in a matter of days is lying. Well, perhaps we are being a little too redundant, do not get us wrong there is actually a possibility to get ones website those dream rankings in an instant but rest assured; the methods are highly illegal in the world of online marketing and Google will find out before you can blink, and your business will end up lost in a big black hole and unable to get out.

No agency, truly interested in your success will offer such promises, in fact there are no guarantees within SEO and the right agency will make you aware of this, but will never refrain from doing everything in their power to help. When budgets must be crucially watched it is wise to invest in an SEO agency that is results based. Any agency can boast skill, innovation and determination but do they have the results to back it up? Successful agencies will have years of experience and will have helped many companies achieve success; success that they will never be afraid to show off. As previously mentioned, time and money is of the essence in today's struggling economy which is why it may be a wise move to take time and ask for a trial service or test. No body wishes to sign on the dotted line and hand over a years' worth of advertising budget without really knowing what they are getting in for and thus it would be wise to take in discussions, think things through, get to really know the agency and agree to a test, site audit or anything else that is being offered; it won't cost you a penny and could be a fantastic help in making the right decision.

Above all else, when seeking to find the right SEO agency it is of great importance to ask around and never be afraid to seek recommendations. The move you will make and the decision you take can have a phenomenal impact on your business success so talk to previous clients about their dealings with certain SEO companies and you shall soon find the answers you seek. Whatever your business may be; there is no doubt that online marketing and it's components are an essential element to success but be careful of the underhanded companies that seem happy to help but do quite the opposite. Research, take time and be careful in your dealings but do not be too afraid as the right SEO agency is out there.

A Scottish budget for jobs and growth

"This is a Scottish budget for jobs and growth. ?In difficult economic times this Government is doing everything within its limited power to stimulate Scotland's economy, to invest in our young people, ?protect households, and support front line services.

"To support the construction industry and inject growth into the economy we will provide an immediate stimulus to the construction industry of ?40 million through investment in affordable housing.

"I am also determined to ensure our young people get the best education in the best possible schools. ?So to further assist the construction sector we will increase the number of schools being built from 55 to 67 bringing forward ?80 million investment through NPD.

"A Green Investment Package of ?30m over the next three years will help home owners improve energy efficiency, cutting bills and tackling fuel poverty ?whilst along with investment in low carbon transport supporting our growth industries and helping to meet our climate change targets. ?We will also establish the Renewable Energy Investment Fund continuing our support for Scotland's growing energy sector.

"I am also investing in the future of our young people with support for a national employer recruitment initiative that will create up to 10,000 opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises to recruit young people, the establishment of an Energy Skills Academy to support the creation of skills in oil and gas, renewables, thermal generation and carbon capture and storage industries and additional funding for colleges to maintain student numbers and support.

"I have used every option available to draw down resources to fund a further economic stimulus to the Scottish economy of over ?180 million. Through use of budget exchange mechanisms, early repayment of loans and careful managing of the capital budget I have drawn down funds to invest in Scotland's economy.

"We are also reaping the benefits of the public ownership of Scottish Water which, as well as allowing Scottish customers enjoy the benefit of water bills on average ?52 lower than in England also enabled us to reduce our lending to the company by ?45 million allowing that money to be invested in the economy.

"We are doing everything we can to support growth, public services and opportunities for the future but the UK Government needs to realise that more needs to be done.

"Only with the full levers of independence can Scotland properly capture economic opportunity and tackle inequality and poverty and we can do so more efficiently and effectively than currently happens in the UK."
